Filtering & date ranges

Two controls shape everything you see in Snow: the date range and your filters. Together they let you go from “all my traffic, all time” down to “mobile visitors from Germany who came from search last week,” and back, in a few clicks.

The date-range picker

Every report is driven by the date-range picker in the header. It sets the window for every number, chart, and list on the page. It comes with presets:

  • Today
  • Yesterday
  • This week
  • This month
  • Last 7 days
  • Last 30 days
  • Custom range: pick any start and end date yourself.

Rolling presets include today. Last 7 days means today plus the previous 6 days, so the number keeps up with what’s happening right now rather than stopping at yesterday.

Whatever range you choose, Snow also compares it against the period of the same length immediately before it, so each metric can show whether it went up or down. See the Overview for how those trends read.

Filters

A filter narrows every report to a slice of your traffic. You can filter by:

  • Channel and source
  • Country and city
  • Page, entry page, and exit page
  • Browser, operating system, and device
  • UTM values (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content)

Apply one and the whole dashboard updates: the Overview metrics, the chart, and every breakdown reflect only the visitors that match.

Filters stack

Filters combine. Add a country and a device and a channel, and Snow shows only the visitors that match all of them. This is how you go from a broad overview to a precise question:

Start with Organic Search, add mobile, add a country: now you’re looking at exactly that audience, across every report.

Remove filters one at a time to widen back out.

Click to filter

You rarely have to build a filter by hand. Almost every value across the dashboard is clickable: a channel in Traffic sources, a page in Pages, a country or browser in Locations & devices. Click it and it becomes a filter on the spot. Click another to stack it on.

Filtered views are shareable

Your date range and filters live in the page’s URL. That means a filtered view is just a link: copy it from your browser’s address bar and send it to a teammate, or bookmark it to come back to the same view later. They’ll see exactly what you see, same range, same filters.
