Trials

The Trials list shows every subscription that started with a trial, straight from your connected payment provider. It includes the trials that never paid, so you see the whole path from trial to paying customer, not only the trials that converted. It sits in the Revenue tab, between the revenue cards and the payments list.

Two views

  • Started in range: trials that began in the date range picked at the top of the dashboard.
  • In trial now: every subscription in a trial right now, whatever the date range. Its total always matches the Active Trials card, and clicking that card opens this view.

Outcomes

OutcomeWhat it means
In trialThe trial is still running.
Cancels at trial endStill in the trial, but the customer has already canceled, so it ends when the trial does.
ConvertedA paid recurring charge followed the trial and the subscription is active or past due, or your provider reports it active after the trial.
Converted, then canceledIt paid after the trial, then the subscription ended.
Ended without paymentThe trial is over and no paid charge followed: it was canceled during the trial, or its first charge failed.

"Paid" means a completed recurring payment from that customer, from the day before the trial ends onward. A small fee charged when the trial starts doesn't count as converting. Snow never records a $0 payment for a trial, so a trial appears in Conversions only once it pays.

What each row shows

ColumnWhat it shows
CustomerThe customer's email from your provider, or their customer id.
PlanThe plan's monthly value (MRR) and how it bills. A plan whose first charge is fully discounted shows "-".
TrialThe trial dates, with the days left or the trial's length.
OutcomeSee above. A converted trial also shows the day it first paid.
SourceWhere the customer first came from, and how Snow linked them to a visitor.
StartedThe day the trial started.

Click a row that has a source to open that visitor's journey: the visits, pages and events that led to the trial.

Why a trial has no journey

A row reads No journey yet when Snow can't tie the customer to a visitor. The usual reasons:

  • The checkout didn't carry the Snow visitor id. See Attribute revenue to visitors for the ways Snow links a customer.
  • Snow never tracked that visitor: they didn't consent on your site, or their browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, which Snow honors.
  • The site runs in cookieless mode, where visitor ids rotate daily.

These trials still count everywhere else: in the outcomes, the Active trials card and the trial conversion rate.

Search and filter

Search by customer email, customer id or subscription id. The outcome filter shows how many trials each outcome holds in the current view.

Providers

The list covers every connected provider that reports trials: Stripe, Polar, Dodo Payments, RevenueCat and Superwall. Like the rest of the Revenue tab, it reads the provider connected most recently.

Dodo Payments doesn't report a scheduled cancellation, so a Dodo trial that will cancel shows In trial until it ends. A new Polar trial can take up to six hours to appear, until the next sync.
